For most of us, our training began with Basic Combat Training (BCT), then Advanced Individual Training (AIT), and then Jump School. I was recently informed that Basic and AIT are now given together in what is called OSUT, One Station Unit Training. This page is dedicated to those who helped us through some of the toughest training most of us have ever endured. Although we hated them at the time, the Drill Sergeants at Basic and AIT were there to guide us and ensure we completed our training. And the dreaded "Black Hats" at jump school, who seemed so cruel at the time, were there to ensure that we not only completed our training, but that we didn't kill ourselves or our classmates! Hell, some of us even became Drill Sergeants and Black Hats later in our careers!
We would like to hear about your experiences in BCT, AIT, and Jump School, and the names of any instructors or Drill Sergeants who may have influenced you. We would also like to hear from the instructors themselves.
